Southwest Virginia has its challenges, but that just means you need to work a little bit harder. I'm not sure people in Roanoke are introverted. Cliques are everywhere. You've just got to put yourself out there and things will fall into place.
So I agree, we're not the most socially adept region in the country... but we're not THAT bad either.
