I would add that it's better to start the networking process now, while you have a job before you actually need a new one. It's very hard to start networking when you're unemployed since good networking is a give and take. With networking, you're building a relationship for the future.Unfortunately, the unemployed job seeker needs help now not later. When you don't need a new position is the best time to hone those networking skills.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It amazes me how often I only hear from some of my contacts when they're recently out of work.
